West Georgia FC offers a Spring/Fall Recreational program opened to ANY player U4 through U19 age group.  We are proudly serving the Douglasville and Carrollton areas.  For more information about the Carrollton program, please go the the Registration menu and choose the Carrollton Recreation Registration link.

Players interested in playing in the Douglasville area will practice at Fowler Field, Chestnut Log Soccer Complex or Boundary Waters.  Typically, our U4 - U8 age groups practice at Fowler Field and our U10 - U19 practice at Chestnut Log or Boundary Waters.

In the Fall our U4 - U8 age groups (Micro) play all games in-house and between their area teams.  Our U10's play other teams based at their same location as well as teams from the other West Georgia FC location.  For an example, a Douglasville team may play a Carrollton team at E. Carrollton Park and a Carrollton team may play a Douglasville team at Chestnut Log.  Our U12's may do the same as our U10's (depending on the number of teams that register) or the U12's will participate in the RILS (Recreation Inter-League Schedule) program.  RILS games are scheduled by Georgia Soccer and it is possible that a U12 and above team may travel to other area clubs such as Fayetteville or Paulding Co to play a game.  U14 - U19 will definitely participate in the RILS programs and will travel to other area clubs for their "away" games.

In the Spring, the season begins the first weekend in March for our Select & RILS program. Our Micro program begins the second weekend in March.  In the Fall, the season begins the first weekend after Labor Day for Select & RILS and the second weekend after Labor Day for Micro.  Recreational practices typically begin two weeks prior to the season beginning and usually each age group plays 8 to 10 games per season.

*New players in our program for Fall 2011 will need a uniform. Returning players from Fall 2010 or Spring 2011 may use the same uniform they purchased within the last two seasons. U4's will need to purchase a game t-shirt and U5 - U19 uniform includes 2 jerseys, a pair of shorts & socks. The next  year the same style uniform can be used from season to season depending on your player's growth and/or wear and tear.

When does the season begin?

 In the Fall U12 & Above games begin the weekend after Labor Day.  Most games are scheduled on Saturdays but some games may be scheduled on Sunday afternoon.  The season finishes up in mid-Nov.

When and how often will my child’s team practice?

U4 - U8 will practice once per week.  Which night will be the coach’s preference. Practices will be at Chestnut Log, Fowler Field or Boundary Waters.

U12 & Above will practice twice per week.  Again, which nights will be the coach’s preference. Practices will be at Chestnut Log, Fowler Field or Boundary Waters.

Practices typically begin 2 weeks prior to the first game.  Coaches will contact all players with practice information or you may learn details at the Parent’s Meeting.

 How do I order a uniform for my child? 

The Club will order the U4's a t-shirt that will be worn for game day.   
All NEW U5 - U19 players will need to enter their uniform size in the Registration program for the Spring 2011 season.  Returning players from the Fall 2010 or returning from the Spring 2011 season will not be required to order another uniform.  

What equipment is needed for my child to particpate in soccer?

• Every player must bring a ball to practice
  • U4 - U8 needs a size 3 ball
  • U10 - U12 needs a size 4 ball
  • U13 - U19 needs a size 5 ball
• Every player must wear shin guards to all practices and games.  Shin guards must be worn under the player's socks.
• No jewelry allowed at practices or games
• It is recommended that players wear cleated soccer shoes.  Players are not allowed to wear a baseball cleat or other cleated shoes that have a toe cleat
• It is recommended that players bring a labled water bottle to all games and practices
